about
Never one to miss an opportunity to feature quarter tones, the intro played by Marit is inspired by Swedish traditional cow calling. This tradition is definitely more beautiful than the name would lead you to believe!
Gin and Strathspey was written after enjoying a
late night session in Newcastle. After a few hours, ordering drinks became more challenging than usual and shockingly the bartender had never before been asked to prepare a ‘Gin and Strathspey’. This track was arranged with a good night in the pub in mind,
the swagger and buzz of that first drink, the decline
of motor skills and eventually walking home with the morning sunrise and a blurry sense of reality. We say forget the tonic and add the strathspey - it tastes much better!

Just the most fun. Every set is one I want to sit down and learn, and they play with so much ENERGY and STYLE. Crunchy, tangible sound. I'll never get tired of listening to Kinnaris Quintet play. andpersand
